Kiran Gill
BA (Hons), Doctor of Chiropractic

Kiran’s interest in Chiropractic developed through personal experience. With a history of being very active in sports, from playing soccer, tennis, horse riding and yoga since a young age, Kiran always had an interest in the human body. After graduating from her first degree (law and psychology at York University Toronto), she started managing a group of multi-integrated healthcare offices in Toronto, Canada where she not only began regular chiropractic treatment to stay fit herself, but also learned how effectively chiropractic improved the quality of life for those who were suffering from chronic pain and other health problems.

Following this experience Kiran undertook the 5 years of full time study of chiropractic at the Southern California University of Health Sciences and qualified as a Chiropractor with a Doctorate in Chiropractic degree in 2010. Since then, she has been working with patients of all ages and physical abilities, including professional athletes, stunt men and women and lead actors/actresses who have sustained injuries while filming.

Kiran has a special interest in holistic pregnancy and paediatric care and is experienced in working with expectant mothers, new born babies and young children. Kiran is a very compassionate and caring healthcare practitioner who strives to provide the best care possible for her patients. She is currently completing the D.A.C.C.P. – Diplomate in the Academy Council of Chiropractic Paediatrics associated with the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association.

Kiran uses a whole person approach. This approach to health and wellness means looking for underlying concerns of any disturbance or disruption (whether they causing symptoms at the time or not) and making fundamental interventions both physical and through lifestyle improvements, that will help optimise conditions for normal functioning of the body. Using this unique approach, Kiran helps to accelerate recovery form injury and/or maintain your journey to good health. Kiran is trained in a number of techniques including:

*     Activator & SOT non-force adjusting used for Geriatric
*     Paediatric or any patient who prefers non-force adjusting
*     Webster Technique for pregnancy patients
*     Myofascial Release Techniques and Soft Tissue Moblisation
*     Functional Movement Assessment for core stability as related to the spine
*     Extremity Assessment and Adjusting
*     Wellness Nutrition to optimise healing/increase energy flow/reduce inflammation

Kiran is registered with the United Chiropractic Association (UCA) and the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Kiran is also a member of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association (I.C.P.A.) and American Chiropractic Association (ACA).

Chiropractic

Chiropractic predominantly focuses on the health of the spine. This is because the spine protects the nervous system and dysfunction of the spinal column results in reduced activity within the nervous system negatively affecting health.

With modern living, the spine is subject to many different stresses (sedentary occupations, postural habits, poor nutrition etc) these can result in problems with the alignment and flexibility of the spine and/or the strength of the muscles that support it. These alignment, flexibility and strength issues of the spine are often the direct and indirect cause of injury, illness and dis-ease.
